The Limpet & Tooth Necklace

This necklace wasn’t supposed to look like this.

While drilling this limpet shell, the shell broke. For a second, I thought the piece was lost—but instead of throwing it away, I changed the design.

I used the opening in the limpet to frame a genuine shark tooth, suspending it inside and turning my mistake into the focal point of the entire necklace.

The result is a completely one-of-one piece made from two treasures of the sea: a naturally patterned limpet shell and a genuine shark tooth, hand-wrapped together and suspended from a warm brown braided leather cord.

A happy accident that became something I never would have designed otherwise.

And maybe that’s what I love most about it.
